Things You Can Make With A Jar Of Pasta Sauce

Whether it’s because I’ve had a busy day, or because I’m just feeling uninspired, sometimes I need a simple-yet-delicious recipe to fall back on. Preferably one where I can just pour a few things in my crockpot, or layer some stuff into a casserole dish and throw it in the oven. On these kinds of occasions, there are a couple of ingredients that it helps to keep on hand, and one of those ingredients is a jar of pasta sauce. Sure, homemade pasta sauce is incredible and not terribly difficult to make, but a jar of store-bought pasta sauce is affordable, convenient, and opens up a world of dinner possibilities to you. (And I’m not just talking about spaghetti!) 😉

So today I’m sharing some delicious recipes with you that all have one ingredient in common – a humble jar of pasta sauce. Hopefully you’ll start to see why I always keep a jar or two in my pantry. Because when you have a jar of pasta sauce, a tasty meal is always just a few minutes away! So let’s get started, shall we?

1. Pesto Marinara Crockpot Chicken

Ingredients:

4-6 chicken breasts
(1) 66 oz jar of pasta sauce
8 oz prepared pesto

Directions:

Add all ingredients to your slow cooker, and cook on low for 6 hours.

Shred the chicken, stir it back into the sauce, and serve warm over pasta.

To get dinner on the table even faster, we served ours over half-size angel hair pasta. It only took 4 minutes of boiling to reach al dente perfection! The whole dish was delicious, and my family immediately requested that we have it again soon. And that definitely works for me! 🙂
