Make Your Own Stamped Easter Decor

Can you believe that Easter is in just a few days? I’m not too proud to admit that I have barely even started to think about celebrating, so I’ll be playing catch up this weekend to throw something together. And if you’re in the same boat, you’re in luck! Because today I’m sharing a few simple Easter projects you can throw together quickly, using some fun Easter stamps!

There’s just something about using a stamp rather than a printer that lends something special to whatever you’re creating. Each time you make an impression with a stamp, the result is going to be unique and full of character. But even in craft stores with a huge variety of rubber stamps available, it can be hard to find a stamp that fits your personal style. There are many sites online where you can order custom stamps, but they come a with a steep price tag. That’s why I’m so excited about Silhouette’s newest craft machine – the Silhouette Mint!

Silhouette, makers of the CAMEO and Curio craft cutting machines, recently released a machine called the Mint, that can “print” custom rubber stamps in a variety of sizes. Using a design from the Silhouette Design Store, or a design you create yourself, you feed a stamp sheet into the Mint machine, and a few seconds later, your stamp is done! I was eager to give the Silhouette Mint a try, and I thought that making some Easter decor would be a great way to get started!

I printed 3 different stamps: a small rectangular one with a carrot, a larger rectangle with a bunny, and a large square with an Easter egg design. Printing these 3 stamps took me about 15 minutes total! Once I had adhered the stamp sheets to the stamp bases, I chose what color of ink I wanted to use with each stamp: pink for the bunny, purple for the egg, and green and orange for the carrot. (That’s one of the perks of using Silhouette’s bottled ink instead of ink pads – you can use multiple colors on one stamp!) After applying the ink liberally to each stamp, and giving the ink time to absorb into the stamp, I was ready to create!

For my first project, I wanted to put a new twist on the printed flower wraps I’ve featured on the blog previously.  I love these flower wraps because it’s an easy way to dress up a bouquet of grocery store flowers. I just taped two pieces of printer paper together, and made an alternating pattern of bunnies and carrots using my new stamps. I wrapped the paper around the stems of a bouquet of tulips, and taped it down. It turned out so cute, and it was almost TOO easy! I think anyone would be thrilled to receive a bouquet of flowers wrapped up in my stamped flower wrap. 🙂

Next, I made some easy name cards for an Easter dinner table. I cut out scrapbook paper into rectangles, and folded the rectangles into tent cards. I stuck some kraft labels I had on hand onto each one, and used my carrot stamp to add a cute little carrot shape to the labels. The whole process took me about a minute, and I love how they turned out!

Lastly, I wanted to create some Easter “baskets” for my kiddos. They’re a bit old for Easter egg hunts now, but I still like to give them Easter candy and a few other little prizes. 🙂 I started by making a few paper bag Easter baskets, another Easter project I’ve featured here on the blog. I used my egg stamp to create a name tag for each bag, and stuck it onto the fronts of the bags with double-sided tape. Now all that’s left to do is fill them!

Thanks to the cute stamps I made with the Silhouette Mint, making a few Easter crafts and decor items took less than an hour. The Mint is so easy to use, and I love that the stamps are so absorbent. In fact, Silhouette says that once a stamp is inked, it can be used up to 50 times before it needs to be re-inked! How cool is that?! I’m already brainstorming more stamp projects!
