7 Marvelous Things You Can Do With A Simple Silicone Mold

Your silicone mold can be so much more than just a reusable muffin pan. Explore the infinite possibilities of silicone molds right here!

Silicone is an extremely versatile material, and these days it is used to make everything from wedding rings to baby bibs. But one of my personal favorite types of silicone products is silicone molds! They come in a hundred different shapes, sizes, and styles, and there are so many ways to use them.

And that’s exactly what we’ll be talking about today! I’ll be sharing a list of 7 of the most clever and useful things you can do with silicone molds. And if you have an idea that isn’t included here, I’d love to hear about it! Share your idea in a comment at the bottom of this post, and we swap ideas there! 🙂

7 Brilliant Ways To Use A Silicone Mold

1. Lunch/Snack Tray

I’ve always been a snacker, and sometimes my lunches look more like a variety of snacks than an actual meal! But silicone molds are perfect for serving up a snack-style lunch.

Fill each cavity in your silicone mold with things like nuts, grapes, cubes of cheese, cured meats, pretzels, etc. Then enjoy your pick-and-choose lunch adventure!

2. Food Prep

Prepping all of your ingredients before you start cooking can make the process much easier. But instead of putting those ingredients in a bunch of separate bowls, just use a silicone mold instead! Then you’ll only have one extra item to clean up after dinner.

3. Freeze Leftover Ingredients

You know those ingredients that buy to use in a recipe, but you only end up using part of them? If you’re anything like me, those ingredients get put in the fridge, forgotten about, then thrown away a few weeks later.

Instead, put those unused portions of ingredients in the cavity of a silicone mold and freeze them. They’ll last much longer in the freezer, meaning you can actually get around to using them up!

4. Make Spinach Cubes

Love your morning smoothie? Give it a boost of extra vitamins and minerals by adding a few spinach cubes! To make spinach cubes, blend up some spinach (or your favorite greens) with a bit of water and pour the mixture into a silicone mold.

Freeze the cubes until solid, then transfer them to a freezer bag. When you’re ready to make a smoothie, just grab a few of your frozen spinach cubes and toss them into the blender cup.

5. Make DIY Bath & Beauty Products

My favorite way to use silicone molds at home is to make my own bath and beauty products! They’re great for making all sorts of homemade creations. Check out some of my past DIYs that include the use of a silicone mold by visiting the links below!

6. Make Homemade Wax Melts

You know those scented wax melts you can use as an air freshener in your home? You can actually make them quite easily at home, and you’ll save a LOT of money going the DIY route! Follow the link below to learn how to make your own affordable air freshening wax melts.

7. Corral Small Items

It drives me crazy to open a drawer and see a bunch of small items rolling around inside. That’s where a silicone mold can really come in handy! The tacky silicone will stay put inside the drawer, and you can use the cavities to keep small items organized and easy to find.

Do you know of any other brilliant uses for silicone molds?
