Happy 1st of June everyone! June is always a busy and fun-filled month here in Utah, because we’re all trying to pack in a few outdoor activities before the 100°+ days arrive in July. I’m also personally partial to the month of June because I got married on June 13th nearly 32 years ago. And since June used to be the most popular month for weddings, I’m sure I’m not alone in celebrating an anniversary this month! (Fun fact: I recently learned that in terms of number of weddings, June was recently surpassed by October!)
With all that said, there’s sure to be plenty to celebrate this month. And what better way to celebrate than by scoring a few great deals? Here are the best things to buy this month if you’re looking to snag a sweet discount!

June Is The Best Month To Buy…
1. Dishware
The wedding industry is still emphasizing early summer as the time to buy. You can take advantage of great deals on traditional wedding gifts this month, including dishes! If your everyday dishes are in rough shape, now would be a great time to replace them.
2. Lingerie
Big lingerie retailers like Macy’s and Victoria’s Secret turn over their inventory this month. Inventory turnover always spells great deals on last year’s styles! And make sure to keep an eye out for the Victoria’s Secret Semi—Annual Sale this month. You can find discounts as deep as 50% off!
3. Tools & Hardware
Father’s Day is this month, and many retailers offer great deals on tools and hardware for Dad! Make sure to check out the big home improvement and hardware chains to find the best deals on tools, tool kits, and all kinds of home improvement gear.
4. Outdoor Gear
In addition to tools and hardware, many retailers also offer discounts on outdoor gear for Father’s Day! You’ll see sales on things like camping gear, fishing rods and tackle, hunting apparel and gear, and more. Although the best deals on outdoor gear usually come when the cold weather moves in, June is the best time to stock up for your summer outdoor adventures for a decent price.
5. Movie Tickets
Take advantage of the great deals on movie tickets at your local theater. Many theaters host summer movie programs for kids, which gives your kids something to do this summer for a great price! Many theaters also screen old classics during the summertime, and you can usually find great discounts on those passes too. (Movies are one of my favorite summer activities, because a cool, dark theater feels especially luxurious when it’s hot outside!)
6. Doughnuts
National Doughnut Day is today, June 1st! In honor of the holiday, Krispy Kreme is offering one FREE doughnut with no purchase necessary. So finish up reading this post, then head out to Krispy Kreme or another local doughnut shop to see if they’re offering any “sweet” deals!
7. Sunglasses
June 27th is National Sunglasses Day! This holiday is put on by The Vision Council to raise awareness about protecting your eyes from the summer sun. Department stores like Macy’s and Nordstrom have timed sunglasses sales around this holiday in past years, so keep an “eye” out for a great deal on a new pair of sunnies!
8. Gym Memberships
By June, all thoughts of New Year’s Resolutions are long gone. Gym memberships are dwindling, so look out for great discounts on a gym membership this month! Plus, if you get started on your gym goals this month, you won’t have to wait in a line for your favorite cardio machine!
9. Fishing Permits
All you fishermen out there, rejoice, because National Fishing & Boating Week will take place on June 2-10. In honor of the holiday, many states offer free fishing without a permit on at least one day in June. You can check to see when your state’s free fishing day is at this link. Certain states also offer discounted or free fishing permits this month, so look out for those!
