I’ve always been a big supporter of handmade gift ideas for special occasions. The most obvious reason being that making a gift can cost a lot less than buying one! I also like the sentiment that’s built in to a homemade gift. If someone has put in the time and effort to make me a gift, I know I’m going to cherish that gift for a long time to come. (What can I say? I’m a big softie that way.)
And speaking of gift-giving occasions… Mother’s Day is just around the corner! There’s no finer occasion to give a handmade gift than Mother’s Day, in my opinion. Any of the special moms in your life are sure to appreciate the thought and effort of your gift! So in case you could use some last-minute handmade gift inspiration, today I’m sharing a selection of some of my favorite giftable DIYs that I’ve posted over the years. All of these projects can be done in an afternoon, so there’s still plenty of time to make something special!

1. Coconut Oil Salt Scrub
Warmer weather is here, which means it’s time to put away all those winter layers and say “so long” to dry, winter skin! This super simple salt scrub (how’s that for a tongue twister?) is just what the doctor ordered. Epsom salts gently exfoliate dead skin cells, while coconut oil locks in moisture for soft, smooth skin. Ooh-la-la!
2. Milk and Honey Soap
This milk and honey soap is definitely one of my top favorite recent DIYs! The soap base we used is made from goat’s milk, which contains alpha-hydroxy acids that promote the turnover of dead skin cells. Goat’s milk can also soothe irritated skin, making it a great choice for those with skin conditions! The texture of the finished soap is so smooth and luxurious, it’s hard to believe it didn’t come from an expensive boutique soap!
3. Body Butter
Lotions are great for everyday use, but sometimes you need something a bit more heavy duty. Look no further than this natural body butter! Using just 3 ingredients, you can whip up a body butter that is thick, creamy, and ultra-moisturizing. Parched, dehydrated skin doesn’t stand a chance against this stuff!
4. Lotion Bars
Lotion bars are solid at room temperature, but once you hold them in your hands for a few seconds, your body heat will soften them. Then you rub the softened bar on those much needed areas such as hands, elbows, the heels of your feet, and cuticles! Lotion bars are the perfect way to take lotion on-the-go, as they fit easily into pockets, purses, shaving kits, and more.
