Over the last couple of months I have been heralding the benefits of our essential oil blend called “Slumber“ that has been helping me (and many, many others) get a better night’s sleep! I often have a hard time sleeping, so I started to slather it all over my feet, put some socks on and slept like a baby all night long! I was sold!
There is one small problem I have with this method, however, and it has to do with the fact that I am a night-owl and my husband is not. He goes to bed earlier than I do most nights and so when I climb in bed at night (or the wee small hours of the morning) I have to find the jar of salve, take the top off, rub it on my feet, put the lid back on the jar, and then put socks on. It’s noisy and I have to turn on a light to see what I’m doing.
As I thought about this dilemma, I remembered the recent post I did about making your own “Winter Cheeks Sticks“ and realized the solution was staring me right in the face each time I used my homemade “chapstick!” All I had to do was mix up a new batch using Slumber blend (instead of Lavender) and problem solved!
Make Your Own “Slumber Sticks”
Instead of “re-inventing the wheel” here, I am simply going to direct you to my post about how to make the “Winter Cheeks Sticks” for step-by-step directions and photos. CLICK HERE to go to that post.
You’re going to follow the same process for making the sticks WITH ONE EXCEPTION. You’re going to replace the 20 drops of Lavender essential oil with 45 drops of Slumber blend. The rest you do exactly the same.
Once you have made your sticks…..simply apply liberally to the bottom and top of both feet after you’ve climbed into bed and get ready to experience sweet dreams (without waking anyone up!) 🙂
OH…..and be sure to save some to use on the kiddos feet on Christmas Eve so everyone in the house can enjoy a “long winter’s nap!”
