I don’t know about you, but finding and sticking to a consistent skin care routine has always been a challenge for me. I tend to overthink things and have always thought skin care had to be this elaborate system of lotions and potions. Instead of trying to figure it out, I would just avoid it altogether. But a few months ago I was introduced to a line of organic skincare products that changed all that. I started with one product and ended up building on that until I’d created a simple, but effective routine that I fell in love with and have been using ever since.
So today I thought I would share that routine with you, because I figure there might be more of you out there like me who want to take good care of your skin, but just don’t know where to start. The first product I tried from Annmarie Skin Care was their Anti-Aging Facial Oil. Since I have reached a certain “maturity,” oils and serums have become my hydration products of choice. Lotions just don’t seem to do enough anymore! I am also a big believer in organic ingredients, and this oil has several! (Jojoba, chia seeds, and goji berries to name a few.) But ingredients aren’t everything – I also have to like how it makes my skin look and feel. And this oil does just that!
The first time I put it on I was impressed by how smoothly it glided over and into my skin, without feeling greasy and heavy. I hate that feeling! My skin immediately started soaking up all the goodness of the organic ingredients, and I never once felt like I needed to clean it off. It gets completely absorbed and leaves my skin feeling wonderful!
After trying the anti-aging facial oil and liking it so much, I decided to look into some of their other products.
Obviously I needed something to clean my face with before applying the oil, so I decided to try the Aloe Herb Cleanser. I am very skeptical about cleansers in general because it seems like every other cleanser I have tried has left my skin feeling tight and stripped of moisture. After cleaning my face with this cleanser, my skin feels completely clean and perfectly hydrated. The word “dewy” really does come to mind when I think of how it makes my skin feel. I know it’s a silly word, but it’s apropos! 😉
And even better than how the cleanser makes my skin feel, the Neroli Toning Mist is the icing on the cake! It is the perfect pick-me-up for my skin after cleansing. The first time I spritzed it on my face, I could almost hear my skin go “ahhhhhh!” 🙂 It is so light and refreshing that I find myself putting a lot more on than I probably need to. It just feels so good on my face! I can feel those tiny lines around my eyes and mouth just relaxing in pleasure. 😉 It’s the perfect preparation for applying the anti-aging oil.
The final part of my simple skin care routine ended up being the Coconut Honey Mask. I am a big believer in the power of honey and coconut oil to heal and soothe skin, especially “mature” skin like mine. I like to use it at least once a week to give my face a little extra boost of hydration and rejuvenation.
I’m sure I could make due without the mask, but at this point in my life I figure I can use all the help I can get. And this product really makes me feel like I’m doing something extra good for my skin.
