Make This Simple, All-Natural Remedy For Painful Yeast Infections

This is a must-read if you've ever suffered from yeast infections!

Since this post comes perilously close to over-sharing, I’m giving you all fair warning right now – today’s post is about yeast infections. 🙂 I don’t usually post about such personal stuff on my blog. But since I know how many women suffer from this incredibly annoying problem, I felt it was my “duty” to share something that saved my life in the past! Okay, “saved my life” might be a bit of an overstatement. But if you’ve ever had a yeast infection, you know just how awful and miserable they make you feel!

Anyway, without going into too much detail, a couple of years ago I was suffering from a horrible yeast infection, or in technical terms, candidiasis. (Candidiasis is simply an overabundance of Candida albicans – a yeast normally found in small amounts in the body.) I’d already tried two rounds of the over-the-counter stuff with no improvement. I was so miserable that I even made a virtual doctor appointment to try and get some prescription relief.

But TWO DAYS after getting a prescription, I was still suffering! I finally did what I should have done in the first place, and started working on a natural remedy. Don’t ask me why it took me so long to do that – I blame it on the fact that I was delirious with discomfort!

I was already aware that the acids in coconut oil are powerful anti-fungal, antiviral, and antimicrobial agents, so I used that as the base for my remedy. I also came across a study from the Journal of Applied Microbiology, which found that both lavender and Tea Tree essential oils inhibited the growth and activity of Candida albicans. So I gathered my coconut oil and essential oils together, and immediately got to work making up some natural oil suppositories. The relief they provided is impossible to put into words.

Natural Remedy for Yeast Infections

You’ll need:

Directions:

Melt about 2 tablespoon of coconut oil in a small bowl or measuring cup.

Next, add 4 drops each of Lavender and Tea Tree essential oils. (This is a safe amount to start with – as long as you know you’re not allergic to any of these oils.)

Pour the oil mixture into a silicone mold. I used a silicone tray for making bottle-friendly ice cubes, and it worked perfectly for this project. I highly recommend using something like this if you can get your hands on one!

Put the filled mold in your freezer until the oils have frozen solid, which should take around 15-20 minutes.

Using Your Natural “Suppositories”

Break each stick into 2 or 3 pieces to make them the perfect “suppository” size. Insert one of the pieces. The coconut oil will begin to melt as soon as it comes into contact with your skin, so you’ll want to use a pad, liner, or some toilet paper to absorb the oil. Repeat as necessary for soothing relief!

Note: If this is your first yeast infection, head to your health practitioner to firm up the diagnosis. But if you’ve “been around the block” with regards to yeast infections, you might try this natural remedy to combat the problem.
