How To Make A Never-Ending Supply Of Cleaning Wipes In Minutes

Enjoy the convenience of kitchen cleaning wipes, but without the waste or the high price tag!

Just last week I wrote a post singing the praises of castile soap. It’s one of the most versatile cleaning ingredients you can keep on hand! You can use it in homemade health and beauty products, or use it to keep your house clean without resorting to chemical cleaners. Today I want to share with you one of my very favorite ways to use castile soap, and that’s to make reusable DIY cleaning wipes for the kitchen!

I first made these kitchen wipes as an alternative to the expensive antibacterial wipes you can buy in the cleaning aisle at the grocery store. Not only are these wipes more environmentally-friendly than disposable wipes, but they also have antibacterial qualities too! The antibacterial kick comes from the addition of peppermint essential oil, which also leaves behind a clean and minty scent after cleaning. šŸ™‚

Many people prefer using natural or organic cleaning solutions to keep their homes clean, and these peppermint kitchen wipes fit the bill perfectly. But even if you don’t mind using commercial cleaners, you really can’t beat the convenience of these homemade kitchen wipes! When you’ve used them up, all you have to do is wash your cloths and they’ll be ready to be reused. No need to make an extra trip to the store, and no need to spend money at all if you have a couple of ingredients on hand!

Here’s how you can make your very own jar of natural and reusable kitchen cleaning wipes at home.

Peppermint Kitchen Wipes

Ingredients:

Supplies:

  • An old t-shirt
  • Scissors
  • Large jar

Directions:

Grab an old t-shirt (or pajama pants, or any soft clothing item you don’t mind cutting up) and use your scissors to cut it up into “rag-size” cloths. (I usually end up with 8-10 rags.)

Next, grab a large jar and pour in the water, castile soap, and peppermint essential oil.

Put the lid on and give it a good shake to combine.

Remove the lid from the jar, and place your t-shirt rags into the jar with the liquid. Replace the lid and turn the container upside-down a few times to help the liquid soak into the rags.

Using Your Peppermint Kitchen Wipes

Use your kitchen wipes to clean up spills, or even just to freshen up your countertops. Set the used cloths aside until you’ve used them all.

Then all you have to do is wash the rags with your laundry, mix up another batch of the cleaning solution, and your kitchen wipes will be ready to reuse!
