This $15 Cream Is The Most Effective Cure Out There For Dry Skin

My heels were so dry and cracked that nothing made a difference—until a wound specialist told me about *this!*

Winter has arrived here in Utah complete with snow and frigid temperatures! The ski resorts are happy, but my skin certainly isn’t. While we Utahns live through a dry climate all year round, the lack of humidity can become particularly problematic when the temperatures drop.

Cold, dry air strips moisture out of your body, leaving you with dry, itchy, flaky skin, irritated noses, cracked & bleeding cuticles, and itchy legs and arms. But MY major issue has always been dry, cracked heels! It’s been an issue I’ve dealt with for years, and it only gets worse during the wintertime.

Several years ago, when I was dealing with a foot wound that stubbornly refused to heal, I went to see a wound specialist. While I was being treated, the doctor noticed what bad shape my heels were in and recommended a cream that ended up being the “miracle cure” I needed for painful, cracked heels!

While I generally prefer using natural and homemade solutions, this stuff has a permanent place in my medicine cabinet. I love this cream so much that I simply had to share it with all of you, in case your heels are in need of some healing too!

The “Miracle Cure” For Dry Skin

My “miracle” cream is called called Atrac-Tain Moisturizing Cream and is primarily used in Wound Care. It’s not generally carried in pharmacies (or at least I’ve never seen it at one) but you can order it online. It costs around $15 for a 5-ounce tube, but a little goes a very long way (and honestly it’s worth every penny!)

I am constantly amazed at how well this cream works, so I did a little research to find out why. Atrac-Tain contains 10% urea and 4% AHA. Urea is a chemical compound found in urine (though thankfully a synthetic version is used in this cream!) Urea acts like a moisture magnet that attracts water to dry skin cells.

The other active ingredient is AHA (alpha hydroxy acid), a skin care product ingredient made from fruit, milk, or sugar cane. It penetrates dead skin cells and loosens the molecular bonds that attach them to the underlying tissues, eventually causing them to fall off and expose the newer skin underneath.

So for those of you who suffer from dry, cracked heels like me, or general wintertime skin dryness, urea and AHA make up the “miracle” you’ve been searching for!

If you don’t believe me, check out the reviews on Amazon! You can read page after page of people RAVING about this stuff, including people who have suffered from eczema, lymphedema, and other skin conditions. Personally, I feel like I have tried everything under the sun for dry skin, but nothing has come close to how well this works on my dry heels.

How I Use It For Cracked Heels

I start by washing my feet, preferably after soaking for awhile so that the dry skin is softened.

Then I slather Atrac-Tain cream onto both feet, pull on a pair of clean socks, and go to bed. That’s all there is to it! Regular use yields the best results, but you will likely notice a difference after just one night. Use the cream nightly until your dry skin is gone and any cracks have healed, then use as needed.

I know there are other dry skin and cracked heel sufferers out there like me so I couldn’t wait to share this! I don’t want anyone to suffer needlessly anymore, especially when this little “miracle” is so readily available. Time to find your happy feet (and hands) again! 🙂
